For International Women’s Day 2025, & Other Stories has partnered with London-based artist Karimah to create a limited-edition organic silk scarf. This wearable piece of art celebrates the resilience, creativity, and power of women supporting women.
The collaboration began with a simple yet profound question posed by & Other Stories to Karimah: “What does International Women’s Day mean to you?” In response, Karimah created a painting titled “Let Love Be Your Legacy,” a composition that reflects her multicultural heritage and explores themes of strength, vulnerability, and sisterhood. Thanks to & Other Stories, the painting has been transformed into a silk scarf that blends vibrant colors and meaningful patterns, creating a personal and powerful piece.
“This piece is a celebration of women’s journeys. I drew inspiration from my heritage, my community, and the women who have shaped me. Like a talisman of strength, this scarf is something women can wear to celebrate their power and their voice,” says Karimah.
Made from organic silk, the scarf will be launched on March 4, 2025. All proceeds will be donated to UN Women’s Second Chance education program in India, which offers marginalized women affected by poverty, crisis, or harmful social norms access to education, vocational training, and new opportunities for a brighter future.
“For & Other Stories, International Women’s Day is more than just a celebration; it’s an opportunity to amplify voices, promote self-expression, and support meaningful change. Karimah’s work embodies all of these values, and we are honored to collaborate with her to support UN Women’s long-term initiative—the Second Chance education program in India—that empowers women through education,” says Cecilia McNeil, Head of Sustainability.
All profits from the sale of the scarf will be donated to UN Women’s Second Chance education program in India, which provides women affected by poverty, crisis, and restrictive social norms access to formal education, vocational training, and entrepreneurial skills, creating new employment opportunities.
