What does femininity mean today? How can it be defined? The Prada Fall/Winter 2025 fashion show, curated by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, explores these questions, sparking a conversation about the collective perception of traditional femininity, the evolving concept of beauty, and how these ideas are constantly shifting.

Displacement, reduction, conversion, recontextualization, and decontextualization: the garments, as symbols of femininity, are in a continuous state of transformation—both in shape and in the way they are worn. Fragments of clothing move over the body, freed from their original purpose and language. With their appearances unrecognizable, we are led to question their origins. As they shift with movement, new silhouettes arise through the interaction of distinct elements.

Proportions are altered, changing the way the garments behave and their relationship with the body. This reduction process focuses on construction, using atypical materials and raw stitching deliberately left exposed.

Glamorous accents in accessories—jewelry, bags, bows, and embellishments—provide a striking contrast to this unfinished quality. This divergence reflects the many facets of femininity, constantly challenging its definition.

The setting of the show, within the Deposito of the Prada Foundation, mirrors the contrast between the raw and the refined, the structural and the decorative. A metal scaffolding reconfigures the space, while a carpet designed by Catherine Martin completes the atmosphere. By revealing these visual dichotomies, the environment itself becomes a reflection of the complex meanings embedded in the garments.

The event was further elevated by the presence of notable figures such as Chen Haoyu, Francesco Vezzoli, Hunter Schafer, Jo and Harua, Kiara Nirghiu, Liv Corfixen, and Nicolas Winding Refn, whose attendance added to the cultural richness and significance of the moment.
