Miu Miu celebrates the Chinese New Year with “The Encounter” (如期而遇), a short film directed by acclaimed writer-director Shujun Wei and starring Miu Miu ambassadors Liu Haocun and Zhao Jinmai. Set in the lively Cantonese tea restaurant Yi Lau Yi in Beijing, the two protagonists engage in a playful scene listening to a local band. Suddenly, almost magically, the musicians and other guests vanish and the two young actresses are left to explore the space – playing, dancing in a dreamscape.
The collection captures the spirit of joy and lightheartedness of the moment. Featuring oversized sweaters and bomber jackets, preppy tweeds and checks, stone-embellished denim, distressed leather, cotton poplin shirts and shorts, all worn with signature ballet flats, loafers, kitten heels, Plume and New Balance X Miu Miu sneakers, elegant evening gloves and delicate pearl necklaces. Penny, Wander and Arcadie bags – offered in exclusive versions – take center stage, accompanied by baseball caps, pink sunglasses and playful charms, including a knitted cotton snake and, in select stores, personalized Chinese knots. Red lucky cotton hoodies, T-shirts and underwear are also available to celebrate the occasion.
